How to stack a new revision of a drawing set
When the architect sends a new revision, the old sheets shouldn't disappear, and neither should your markups. PlanDesk reads each sheet's number, title, revision and date from its title block, matches the new set to the one in your Library, carries your markups onto the new sheets, and keeps every older revision one tap away.
Open the new set
Open the new PDF the way you open any drawing. PlanDesk compares its sheet numbers with the sets in your Library.
Stack it
If most sheet numbers match a set you already have, PlanDesk asks whether it's a new revision of that set. Tap Stack, check the sheet matches, and tap Replace. New sheets that weren't in the old set are added at the end.
See the history
Each stacked sheet shows its revision in the Sheets list, like Rev 2 (1 older). Choose Document › Sheet revisions to see every revision of the sheet you're on, with its date and the file it came from.
Compare or open an older one
In Sheet revisions, tap Compare to lay the older revision over the current one (this set in red, the older one in blue), or Open to see the older sheet with the markups it had then.
Tips
- Already have both sets open? Document › Slip sheet a new revision does the same thing by hand.
- Document › Name sheets from title blocks renames every sheet to its number and title, like A-102 · Second Floor Plan.
- With device sync on, older revisions follow the drawing to your other devices.
