How to open and save drawings in OneDrive, SharePoint, Google Drive, Dropbox or Procore

Most project files live in a shared drive. PlanDesk opens them straight from there and saves your markups back to the same file, and it checks first that nobody saved a newer copy in the meantime.

  1. Connect your drive

Choose File › Open from cloud drive, then Connect next to OneDrive or SharePoint, Google Drive, Dropbox or Procore. Sign in on the provider's own page.

  2. Pick a drawing

Browse your folders, Shared with me, or your company's SharePoint sites (Google Drive opens Google's own file picker). PDFs, Word and Excel files show up. In Procore, pick a company and project, then Drawings or Documents; a drawing area can open as one set with every current sheet.

  3. Mark it up and save

Save PDF writes your markups back into the same file in the drive. If someone saved a newer copy since you opened it, PlanDesk asks whether to save yours as a copy beside it or replace theirs.

  4. Save a new drawing to the drive

File › Save to cloud drive saves a copy of any open drawing into a folder you pick. After that, Save PDF saves there.

Tips

  • Procore drawings can't be overwritten, so your marked-up copy is saved to the project's Documents, in a PlanDesk Markups folder. Later saves add a new version of that file.
  • Your sign-in stays on this device. Disconnect any drive in File › Open from cloud drive.
  • On iPad and iPhone you can also open drawings through the Files app, where OneDrive, Google Drive and Dropbox appear once their apps are installed.
