How to compare two revisions of a drawing

When a new revision of a set comes in, the questions are what changed and whether your markups survive. PlanDesk answers both: compare overlays the two revisions and clouds the differences, and slip sheet swaps in the new sheets with your markups carried over.

  1. Open the current set

    Open the revision you've been marking up.

  2. Compare

    Choose Document › Compare revisions, then Choose the other revision. PlanDesk lays it over the sheet you're on, this set in red and the other in blue. Sheets are matched by sheet number.

  3. Cloud the changes

    Tap Cloud changes. PlanDesk finds where the two revisions differ and clouds each area.

  4. Slip sheet the new revision

    Choose Document › Slip sheet a new revision and pick the new PDF. Each matched sheet is replaced by its new revision, and your markups and scale carry forward. Undo puts the old revision back.

Tips

  • If the two revisions don't line up exactly, nudge the other revision right or down in Compare revisions until they do.
  • Check Compare with the old revision afterward in the slip sheet window to go straight to the overlay.
