How to add revision clouds to a PDF

A revision cloud is the scalloped outline that marks what changed on a drawing. In PlanDesk it's a single drag, and the cloud saves as a normal PDF annotation that every PDF reader shows.

  1. Pick the Cloud tool

    It's in the Shapes group, or press C on a keyboard.

  2. Drag around the change

    Drag from one corner to the other. The cloud draws as you go.

  3. Add the note

    Use Cloud+ instead (press F) to drag a cloud and type its note in one step, or add a Tag, which numbers itself (T-1, T-2 and so on).

  4. Style it

    With the cloud selected, change its color, line weight and fill in the bar at the top.

Tips

  • Comparing two revisions can cloud every change for you; see the comparison how-to below.
  • Add a comment and a status in Properties, then File › Review package (PDF) gives a snapshot of every cloud with its comment.
