PlanDesk is a PDF markup and takeoff app. This policy explains what happens to your information when you use it.
Your drawings stay on your device unless you turn on sync
PDFs you open, the markups you make, measurements, signatures, digital IDs, voice notes and attachments are stored on your own device. When you save or share a file, it goes only where you send it, for example to the Files app, email or another app. The one exception is device sync, described below, which is off until you turn it on.
What we collect
PlanDesk on iPad, iPhone and Mac works without an account and, used that way, does not collect personal information. PlanDesk contains no advertising, no analytics or tracking tools, and no third-party data collection. We do not sell or share data.
Your PlanDesk account (optional on iPad, iPhone and Mac)
You can sign in with your email address to use one PlanDesk subscription on every device, to join a team, or to use device sync. On Windows and the web, signing in is how you use PlanDesk. We store your email address and, if you link it, an identifier of your App Store subscription (not your Apple ID or payment details) so we can tell whether your account has PlanDesk Pro. Sign-in codes are emailed through Resend, our email provider. A sign-in cookie or token keeps you signed in on that device for up to 180 days. You can delete your account any time from Help › Account in PlanDesk, which removes your email, subscription link and synced drawings from our systems.
Teams
If you buy seats for a team, we store the email addresses you invite so they can use your subscription, and we send each one an invitation email. Team members can see who owns the team; the owner can see the team's email addresses. Anyone can leave a team at any time.
Device sync (optional)
If you turn on device sync, PlanDesk uploads the drawings you open and their markups, measurements, layers, voice notes and attachments so they appear on your other signed-in devices. They are stored on Cloudflare's servers (Cloudflare R2), encrypted in transit and at rest, in a space tied to your account that only your signed-in devices can reach. We don't look at, analyze or share your drawings. Removing a drawing from your Library removes it from sync, deleting your account deletes everything you synced, and turning sync off stops new uploads.
Microphone
PlanDesk uses the microphone only when you record a voice note on a markup. The recording is saved with that markup on your device and in the PDF when you save it.
Subscriptions and payments
PlanDesk Pro is sold as an auto-renewing subscription through Apple's App Store. Apple processes the payment, the free trial, renewals and cancellations under your Apple ID. We never see or store your name, card number or billing details. The app asks Apple only whether your Apple ID currently has an active PlanDesk Pro subscription, and that check happens on your device. Apple sends us anonymous, aggregated sales reports (for example, how many subscriptions were sold in a country) that do not identify you. You can manage or cancel your subscription any time in your Apple ID settings, under Subscriptions.
On Windows and the web, PlanDesk Pro is billed by Stripe, our payment processor. Stripe collects your card details directly; we never see or store your full card number. Stripe shares with us your email, plan, subscription status and billing country so we can provide the service. Manage or cancel any time from Help › Account and subscription in PlanDesk.
Internet use
PlanDesk works offline. Signing in and device sync connect to our server when you use them. The optional text-recognition feature (for scanned drawings) downloads its recognition engine and language data from a public software distribution service (jsDelivr) the first time you use it. That request includes only what any web download includes, such as your device's IP address, and no drawing content is sent.
Digital IDs
If you create or import a digital ID for signing, it is stored on your device protected by the password you choose. We cannot see or recover it.
Changes
If we change what PlanDesk collects, we will update this policy before the change takes effect and note the new date at the top.
Children
PlanDesk is a professional tool and is not directed to children under 13.
